What I use for my blog

When it comes to setting up your own blog, the choices can be overwhelming! I found it really useful to see what others were using and sometimes just rely on someone else’s research or experience rather than

I use Siteground as my host for this website and it comes with a free domain name! If you’re wanting to monetise your blog, you do need to include this step (meaning that you can’t just use wordpress.com). Siteground is fast (which is great for traffic), and they have a great reputation for excellent customer service.

I use WordPress.org to manage my blog. 34% of the web is powered by WordPress, which is just mind-blogging, right? It’s free (yah!) and so easy to use once you get the hang of it. When you set up your site, you’ll need to choose a theme. I followed the advice of Suzi from Start a Mom Blog and used Astra. It’s lightweight (which means it loads easily – and google likes that!), easy to use and modern.

Canva! I L.O.V.E. this free tool and until I get fancy and can afford the monthly subscription to Adobe Illustrator, I am quite happy to keep using Canva. I make all my pins on this super easy to use drag and drop software, and I often start with their templates so it’s fast too.
